One production, double the value

Keksi's five-year partnership with Rantalainen, a financial management services provider, is built on combined photo and video productions. The collaboration has proven that with the right planning, hybrid production delivers timeless visual material that supports the brand across all channels – year after year.

How did your collaboration start?

"We were going through a brand refresh with a brand agency, and they recommended Keksi as a partner for conceptualising and building out our visual world. That's how Rantalainen's own brand image library was born — and over the years it has become an essential part of our brand work," says Atte Lindbäck, who has been part of Rantalainen's marketing and communications team since the very beginning of the collaboration.

Why did you decide on combined photo and video production?

"A production is always a significant investment, so of course you want to make the most of it. What works for us is that both photos and videos come out of the same shoot — planned around the same subjects and situations. We use the material across the board: website, social media, sales materials and client meetings. When everything is built around the same concept, the materials complement each other and really reinforce the brand."

How important is visual material to your work?

"As everything moves digital, images and videos play a significant role in customer encounters and sales situations across channels. For us, they're an additional way to communicate our values: trust, expertise and service. As a large organisation, we have extensive material needs across different channels and touchpoints."

You use both your own staff and non-professional models from Keksi's model bank in your shoots. How does that work?

"The combination works really well for us. Our own staff bring a sense of familiarity and community to the shoots, while the non-professional models from Keksi's model bank make the sets more practical to pull off — especially when the shoot day takes place at an off-site location."

Why has it been important to work with the same photographers throughout?

"Pia and Mikko, Keksi's photographers, have been with us from the very beginning. They know exactly what we're looking for and what kind of atmosphere we're after. That makes the work easy and efficient: both stills and video are shot with quiet confidence and solid professionalism — and in perfect sync with each other. With a partner who knows our brand inside out, we don't have to start the brief from scratch every time."

How well do five-year-old photos and videos hold up?

"Well-designed, well-executed material holds up surprisingly well. Our older assets are still in active use — and new material rarely replaces the old entirely. It tends to complement the collection instead. In our visuals, we're not chasing trends; we're after a genuine atmosphere and a strong, consistent brand image."

Why not use artificial intelligence to produce the material?

"We use AI in many ways and see the potential it brings to our everyday work. But when it comes to brand imagery, we've found that traditional photography still serves us best for building a focused, coherent image portfolio. Human interaction and authentic emotion are at the core of our brand material — which is why we continue to invest in real imagery."

Would you recommend Keksi to others?

"Absolutely. For five years, the collaboration has been easy, flexible and consistently high quality. When you need both images and video — and you need them across a variety of uses — hybrid production is well worth considering. Creating everything in one process saves time, effort and money."
