Helsinki chose Keksi

The City of Helsinki has chosen Keksi as its photography production partner for culture and leisure services!

12.2.2025 News from

We get to capture the city's pulse — everyday life and celebrations, diverse culture and the joy of sports. Naturally, the main characters in the images are the many different kinds of Helsinki residents: native-born and newcomers, babies and grandfathers, athletes and artists, dark-skinned and fair-skinned, those in the spotlight and those who stay in the background — hopefully in the coming years, Helsinki's images will convey an authentic and diverse picture not only of our city but also of us city dwellers.

the City of Helsinki  organized its first extensive photography services tender in late 2024, seeking photo partners for a two-year period. The framework agreement began on February 6, 2025 and includes the two-year period plus an equal option period extending to 2028.

The tender was implemented across three photography areas: built environment, architecture and landscapes, communications and marketing, and broader photo production as project packages. Keksi was selected as supplier for all three of these areas, with photographers Mikael Ahlfors, Pia Inberg, Suvi-Tuuli Kankaanpää, Teemu Kuusimurto, Katri Lehtola and Markus Pentikäinen appointed.

The tender covers the culture and leisure division, where images play an extremely significant role in communications. Through images, we can tell about the city's services broadly, as the city has a vast range of leisure offerings. The city administers, among other things, 800 sports facilities, 38 libraries, 8 cultural centers, 5 museums and 70 youth centers.

Helsinki's communications and marketing emphasize Helsinki's unique story: an authentic and contrasting city, people's freedom and equality, urban life close to nature, and a sustainable lifestyle. Images convey emotions about a diverse city that is relaxed, free and humane. We at Keksi look forward to the collaboration and are especially pleased that the tender emphasized quality over price. That's how it should be!

We also congratulate Kuboa, photographer Maija Astikainen and Deed Creative, who were also selected in the tender!
