Brand images and video content for VR's multiple channels

"High-quality, on-brand, cost-effective, straightforward, creative and easy." That's how VR's Content Designer Inka Honkanen described collaboration with Keksi when we asked.

What does VR want to communicate through brand images and clips, VR Content Designer Inka Honkanen?

"We want to communicate through brand images and videos how easy train travel is and how our train services meet the needs of different travelers. Through images, we highlight train services and how travel time can be used productively. Through images, we want to inspire people to make environmentally wise choices and travel by train for both everyday and leisure journeys."

Where are the images and video clips used?

"The materials are used widely across different channels. Most visibly, they appear in our digital channels (vr.fi & VR Matkalla app) and on social media. They're also used in digital advertising and internal and external communications — and sometimes in physical advertising spaces, such as train posters."

Working with Keksi has proven to be straightforward, creative and easy in every way.

What is important to you when choosing a production partner?

"High-quality and on-brand output is the be-all and end-all, but we also value a turnkey approach and thorough production planning. Cost-effectiveness between shoot days and the material obtained also influences our choice."

Why was Keksi specifically chosen as the partner for image and clip production?

"Competitive pricing combined with a large volume of material is Keksi's absolute competitive advantage. Broad usage rights and long lifespan of the material from shoots are also important factors. Working with Keksi has proven to be straightforward, creative and easy in every way."

What are the special characteristics of shooting on a train?

"The train as a space creates certain challenges due to its confined nature regarding camera angles and lighting. It's also its own operational puzzle to get a specific type of train to a specific place at a specific time, as the fleet is primarily in efficient operation. We've solved these challenges by organizing shoots mainly at the depot, which makes us less dependent on strict train schedules. With a stationary train at the depot, the challenge becomes the view from the window, or rather the lack of it. Keksi has brought good solutions to this, creating convincingly realistic movement especially in video clips."

How would you describe Keksi models and the model process?

"Model selection has been made quite easy. For each role, there have been a few candidates to choose from, allowing us to select the right group for each shoot. Most models have been remarkably natural in front of the camera. Only child performers have occasionally shown some stage fright, which is of course completely understandable."
